Welcome Brandon Smith to the Admirals

by Ashley Robinson

Admirals Nation please welcome Brandon Smith of Brandon’s Basketball Academy to the Admirals family! He will be taking on the role as a AAU Coach, trainer and player on the Admirals Pro team. Brandon played Highschool Basketball in Kentucky at North Hardin Highschool. He then attended the University of Alaska Anchorage where he Red Shirted his freshman year in 2004. Transferred to Tacoma Community College 2005-2007, where he started both freshman and sophomore year under Coach AC Mosley. Brandon became heavily recruited by Power House Div. II programs such as:

Chaminade University/ Central Missouri State/ Seattle University/ Lynn University/ North Dakota State & a few Div. I programs as well such as:

San Diego University/ University of San Francisco and Texas Pan American. Brandon had a successful Junior College All Star Showcase at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK where he got national attention. That same summer Brandon suffered a Knee Spree and Slight Tear in the right knee which sat his basketball career on hold. After 2 years of full rehabilitation Brandon was able to perform at high level again and was able to walk on at Arizona State University. He left after his junior year for a contract with the Romania Club of (CSM FOCSANI) Liga - 2010

Due to an I.T Band Injury, Brandon had to leave competitive competition alone for awhile but decided to come back for an Overseas Combine in Las Vegas 2017 where he had a overall combine score of 2.7 which landed him the attention from Hong Kong Clubs where he played a year in the Hong Kong League at the age of 34 and was a practice player for the SCAA (South China Athletic Association) - 2018 under Coach Chu. Now he wants to pass on his knowledge of the game and the process it takes to be recruited and getting exposure. Teaching these kids the work ethic it takes at a young age and develop them into college bound players..nothing like it!
